While lacrosse generally tends to be one of the more overlooked sports, it is not due to lack of difficulty. According to one member of the Avon Lacrosse Club, Haley Duncan, "There's so many different things that you have to do." Along with its physically intensive challenges related to strength and speed, due to the unique mechanics of how lacrosse is played, it is challenging in its own unique ways.
While the team has not yet begun playing official games, they have been working hard at practice so they can perform their best. "The relationship with the team is super close. We've gotten close together, and it's a good environment to be in," said Duncan.
Having participated in the club last year, Duncan has seen how it has changed. "We've gotten more people to come this year," she said. With the group expanding, the environment has changed and the group has become very focused in.
While lacrosse is often overlooked, compared to some other high school sports, it does not lack the qualities that make such sports great. "I love it so much, and I want other people to love it as much as I do," said Duncan.
