RAD Self Defense Classes

From June 3 to June 7, the Plainfield Police Department will be leading the Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) class for women. The class will meet in the high school wrestling room on those days from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This year's instructor is Officer Taylor Wilson. For five years, Wilson has been teaching students how to defend themselves against the event of assaults or possible abduction. "I think it is important to not rely on anyone except for yourself when it comes to your safety and protection," said Wilson. "I enjoy taking some lighthearted jokes and breaks throughout the class because when teaching a self-defense class, you have to be serious. I just like taking some time to laugh and joke with my students."

Students can sign up in the Main Office. Questions? See Officer John Endsley.
