Art Club call-out meeting set for August 28
Students encouraged to share creative side
It's the start of the school year – and time for students to consider joining clubs. For teens who are looking to improve their drawing, painting and creative skills, Art Club is the way to go.
Art teacher and Club Supervisor David Ballinger believes that the club is a good way for students to improve their skills. "Students should join the club because they get a chance to create with other students instead of doing it by themselves," he said. "There are no requirements to join the club; there is also no fee to join."
Ballinger feels that time spent out of class is as important as time spent in class on artistic projects. "Spending time on any skill helps you improve,"he said. "Drawing, painting or creating in any way will help you improve your skills no matter what."
The club callout meeting is on Wednesday, August 28 at 7:45 a.m in room J104. Those who are interested in joining Art Club, but who are unable to attend the meeting, can email or visit Ballinger. "Studies say that participating in an extracurricular raises grades and makes your time in high school much more enjoyable," he added. "It gives you something to look forward to".
