Bring Change To Mind Summit

November 5 marked the day that the Bring Change To Mind (BC2M) Club had their annual Summit. In attendance were several club members, as well as Club Sponsor Carrie Cavanaugh.

Cavanaugh explained the importance of the event. "The purpose of this event is to bring BC2M clubs together from all over the state to allow students to share ideas and experiences that have helped them not only work through their own mental health issues, but also help stop the stigma associated with mental health in their schools and communities," said Cavanaugh.

Looking back, Cavanaugh noted her favorite part of the event. "My favorite part was the closing speech from Victoria West, a former Purdue womens basketball player who announces for the Indiana Fever and Pacers," said Cavanaugh. "She was so full of energy and it was contagious. Also, her personal story had such a positive message for all of us in attendance."

When it comes to people interested in joining the BC2M Club, Cavanaugh gives one suggestion. "If people want a safe space, surrounded by empathetic peers, just to hang out, join BC2M," said Cavanaugh. "If they want to just relax, breathe, craft, journal, join BC2M."
