Choir Christmas Concert

12/12/2024

Following the tradition of Christmas and winter-themed concerts at the end of the first semester, the show dates for the annual choir Christmas program slowly approach, bringing with it a show for students and families alike to get into the holiday spirit.

With festivity in mind, Senior Jesse Haskins, who is in the show, described the program as "a fun show with a lot of Christmas cheer."

Although the show is filled with joyous Christmas classics and other such melodies, there has been immense practice leading up to the event. To Haskins, the opener was one of the most challenging aspects of the show.

"Our opener is pretty hard," said Haskins. "It's tough to get some of the notes, and also Christmas time is a grind because of competition season. Balancing those two has been pretty tough."

However, despite the challenges that come with the Winter season for choir students, the phrase "practice makes perfect" is on everyone's mind. That being said, when the stress is out of the way, the student's have allowed themselves to have fun with the process.

"I really like the senior dance," said Haskins. "It's a piece called Santa's Rockin'. I really like that dance because I'm in the front and dancing with all of the seniors."

As the showtime slowly approaches, Haskins anticipates that the program uplifts peoples' spirits and gets the audience in the mood for Christmas. It will take place on both Friday, December 13th, and Saturday, December 14th. Shows will begin respectively at 7:00 PM on Friday, 2:00 PM on Saturday, and 7:00 PM on Saturday as well.
