College GO! Week

09/27/2023

For this week only, 36 of Indiana's top universities and colleges are waiving their admission fees for all students. This makes it easier for seniors to apply to more colleges and gives younger students opportunities to learn more about colleges they might be interested in.

College and Careers Counselor Makenzie Ewoldt said, "College Go! Week helps Indiana students start thinking about college options. In the high school setting, it motivates seniors to apply to many colleges for free. In elementary and middle school settings, it helps those students to think about the idea of college through communications and games/activities."

Although some students might not consider college to be an avenue after high school, this program makes it easier for those who are interested and encourages them to apply. "I believe it will motivate students to submit the applications they haven't submitted yet," said Ewoldt. "The main way it helps our students is by promoting colleges that will allow them to submit the application without a fee this week. If you're still waiting to submit apps, now is the time."

Overall, this is a great way for colleges to reach out to students and get them excited about going to college. "Honestly, it helps increase their application numbers, allows accessibility and is a fun way to have students learn a little more about their campus," said Ewoldt.
