First week of fall
On September 22nd, 2024, the official first day of autumn graced us with its chill breeze and rainy skies. All over Plainfield, people are getting ready for the most anticipated season in a multitude of ways.
Senior Haley Duncan, for example, can already see the opportunities popping up left and right to have a little fall fun this upcoming season.
"I love going to the pumpkin patches," said Duncan, "or even just a nice little walk while the leaves are changing."
This dream will soon become a reality, as this week marks the first week in the season. Changes can already be observed: from the darker mornings to the chilly breeze. Soon, for a short while, life will move slower, the air will be crisper and the outfits will be heavier.
And of course, all of the festivities that come with autumn are highly anticipated, too.
"Halloween is the best holiday in general," said Duncan. "I love dressing up. It's such a fun time."
While some may be sad that summer is going away, autumn will put in its place some of the best foliage and activities of the year. Whether it be football or scary movie marathons, autumn is here and here to stay.
