Friday Night Lights Returns August 25

Friday night: Decked out in beach gear, excited students will file into the stands, ready to cheer. August 25 marks the official start of the football season, with the first home game against West Lafayette Harrison.

The theme for Friday's game is 'Beach.' During lunch, students can head to the Quaker Corner to purchase a 'Life's a Beach' 'themed T-shirt for $10. Sizes and supplies are limited, so early purchase is recommended.

Defensive lineman junior Blue Jetawo explained that while he prefers away games, he is enthusiastic about the home game as well. He specified that he is revved up about the team's potential. "[I am most excited about] showing how we are going to dominate," he explained. "We're just going to have a good season."

A member of the Dance Team, senior Brianna Such explained that she is looking forward to performing during the halftime show – something she hasn't done in a while. "I haven't [danced] for a few years and I'm excited to get back out there again to give everyone some extra pep," she said. "School spirit is what makes school fun."

Such added that a memory she has from a previous football game is standing in the student section, surrounded by friends and cheering along with the cheerleaders. She explained, "This moment is always scary because you don't know if you're going to fall or not, but overall, it's always a good time."
