Girl's Basketball
Plainfield's very own girl's basketball team defeated McCutcheon this past Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Sophomore Hannah Menser dominated the scoreboard, bringing 31 points home to the Quakers. Junior Berkeley Williams followed in the ranks, scoring an additional 18 points for the team.
Menser credited her team's detailed training for their success. "We were ready for anything they threw at us. We knew what we prepared for, and we did what we always do," she said. "They had a lot of different defenses, so we went through all of them at practice and had all of these different plays. We worked really hard to remember all of them. At the game, we got in our spots, and it worked out."
Another factor that Menser felt benefitted the girls was the atmosphere around the court. "There were a ton of fans there. It was so loud that we couldn't hear, and it was amazing," said Menser. "When the crowd is like that, it hypes us up and makes us play harder. It is more interesting than the room being dead quiet."
