Homecoming basketball game
The annual homecoming basketball game is tonight, and throughout the halls everyone at Plainfield is getting hyped up for it. For senior Chris Arvanitis, it means more than just a regular game. "This is a big game, we're playing our former coach, Gavin Groninger," said Arvanitis. "He's a really good guy, and I know he will get his team fired up." Coach Groninger is now the head coach for Mooresville's basketball team, after being the assistant coach at Plainfield for 12 years.
Arvanitis predicts that not only the teams will be fired up Friday night, but also the fans. "With the amount of people there, it can always be a close one." The Plainfield Party won't stop tonight, as the crowd will cheer and chant for the team all night long. The louder the crowd, the closer the team will be to bring home the win for Plainfield.
On and off the court, Arvanitis hopes to inspire those around him to do the right thing. "The legacy I want to leave behind is doing the right thing," said Arvanitis. "My points and my stats don't show the most, but every day in practice I treat everything professionally. You have to show up and do your best at everything regardless of the outcome you have to put in the effort." Since the team has worked so hard day in and day out, you all should come out tonight to support your Quakers!
