Homecoming Hallway Decorations
Walking in every day to the same place and going to the same classes day by day without many visually appealing decor can be repetitive. To keep classes interesting, there is a variety of activities that can help boost morale around the school, and homecoming hallway decorating is one of these ways. Starting the week of September 11th, students from all grade levels have a chance to decorate the hallways according to the decades.
"It makes students even happier to be at school and gives them something to look forward to," said Student Body President senior Tiba Altower. "It makes people excited to see the end result and to rate the designs among themselves, bringing joy to school by making the environment more welcoming and interactive."
Each grade does its best to decorate with the most passion and to form the best-looking hallway. There is then a vote by school staff, and it is decided on which one looks the most visually appealing.

Creating a hallway based on a theme is a fantastic way to work with people of the same grade and presents a time to express oneself. Using the supplies ordered by each class sponsor, students collaborate with each other to decorate. "My favorite part is getting to see the finished product and having the chance to walk the halls after they have been decorated so well," said Altower.
The competition of the grades is a healthy, fun way to stir things up during school hours. There is a role for every student to play a part in. There are different steps for each person to accomplish. Some include drawing, painting, taping, gluing, or even adding glitter.
"Although each grade level has its own hallway and decorates it individually, this project still could be considered teamwork between all grades," she said. "Everyone is pitching in to create a creative, vibrant, inviting space for the entirety of the school to enjoy."
