Interact Club Book Drive

11/16/2023

There's nothing better than a new book – or even a "new-to-you" book – and the Interact Club is looking for book donations to help spread the love.

The Interact Club is taking donations of new and used books for their upcoming booth at the Gingerbread Christmas in the Main Gym on December 2. As well as books, club members are also selling bookmarks and potpourri, with all proceeds going towards students at the Medina Village School in Sierra Leone, Africa.

Interact Club Sponsor Liza Payton explained the importance of contributing to communities such as these, noting that the previous year, the money raised funded education and meals for a year for three students. "My favorite thing about this project is that our work makes a huge difference in the lives of kids in Sierra Leone," she said.

Anything that one can donate can make a difference. "When a lot of people make a small difference, it really can add up," said Payton. "Actions and kindness can also make a big difference."
