Music Contest

To all future musicians, the Publications staff is holding a music contest starting August 24. "Anyone who has a musical piece that he or she created or made a cover for is welcome to participate," said senior Tiba Altower. "Also, if a person knows of another student who makes music, he or she can inform them about it and have them submit their pieces."

There will be no length restrictions for lyrics so the participants can have creative freedom. "There is no length requirement, because essentially, this contest is to portray the talent of students at PHS," said Altower. "Whether it be instrumental music, lyrical music or covers of already-made songs."

"Because this is a school-related contest, any lyrics submitted will need to follow the school guidelines," explained Altower. "The judges will be members of the Public Relations staff, and since there is more than one person, there will be a variety of music tastes that will guarantee selections will not be biased."

The winner will receive a prize from the Publications teacher. Students can email taltower6627@redpride.net or DM phs_publications on Instagram for submissions or further questions. The submissions deadline is September 4.
