Powder Puff Reflection

In a torrent of rain, the freshman and sophomore Powderpuff teams battle it out until the last minute. The rain ends, the sun comes out and the sophomores win the throw-off to break the 14-14 tie, which marks the second year that the class of 2025 has won Powderpuff. In a huge upset, the senior class lost to the juniors 14-0. Coach Caleb Moster led the sophomore team to victory, and hopes to continue doing so.
"I coached them last year when they were sophomores, and it was fun to get to see the same faces from last year and get to meet some new ones," said Moster. "We've had a great run, and I'd hate to let that go when we're so close to a 3-peat!"
Powderpuff has been a long-lasting tradition at Plainfield, but after COVID, it stopped taking place, due to safety concerns. However, last year it was brought back as a way to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital. This year, they raised over 1,000 dollars for charity.
This year, the players and coaches were pumped for the game, as were the coaches."The energy that the students brought to the game was definitely the best part," said Moster. "It's nice that I'm not the only one excited to be there, even if I'm the only one with a tie It makes the time I give up worth it when everyone is getting into it."
