Homecoming Parade

On September 15 at 5:30 PM, many excited teens and starry-eyed children will line the streets surrounding the high school to observe the iconic Homecoming Parade, a Plainfield tradition that has been held for decades.
Whether walking or simply watching from the sidelines, students use the parade to show their academic, musical and organizational achievements.
"I think the parade is important to Homecoming Week because it's a good event for the community," said Former Homecoming Prince and senior Connor Burress. "Almost every organization in the school walks in the parade, the Homecoming Court throws candy to younger kids and overall it's a fun event."
Many will be able to see features such as the band, clubs, organizations and the homecoming court -- all before the Homecoming Game that will take place a few hours after.
"Plainfield really wouldn't be the same without these homecoming celebrations," Burress said. "And the parade is the most important."
