Rubik's Cube Club
This coming Monday, September 25th, students can join Rubik's Cube Club, where they can learn methods to solve many different kinds of puzzles as well as to work on their own.
Senior Kaiden Nutty, President of Rubik's Cube Club, tells anyone considering joining the club that it's a fun and rewarding way to spend time. "[Students] are learning something new and meeting a lot of new friends with similar interests," he said.

"Cubing was at its height of popularity around 2002," said Nutty. "It has decreased in popularity since, so a lot of people haven't had as much of an opportunity to get into it." He explains that it is a skill that involves logic, hand-eye coordination and a lot of focus. "A lot of people that have a Rubik's cube on their shelf have never touched it. This is a chance to give it a try."
There will even be various in-school competitions throughout the year where students can compete and get the chance to be posted on the Wall of Winners. The Wall of Winners is a channel on the Rubik's Cube Club Discord. Here there will be a small picture of the student posted as well as the cube that was used.
There is a lot of excitement about what is possible for this club. "If we can, I want to try to go on field trips to WCA competitions near-by," said Nutty, talking about potential activities for the club. "Last month was the USA WCA competition and Max Park set the world record. He's my idol; that would be so cool to see."
The next Rubik's Cube Club meetings will be on September 25th and October 9th. Nutty encourages anyone to join who is interested. "There are flyers around the school with information," he said. "[Students] can email me or come talk to me."
