Show Choir Competition Season
From putting on make-up to singing and dancing, the PHS show choirs are performance- ready, with competition season revving up after a January 27 start.
"Our first competition happened at Ball State on January 27," said junior Dawson Martin. That weekend, the show choir competed at Ball State University in the Mid-American Show Choir Championship, winning many awards. Belles et Beaux won the best vocal caption and Femmes Fatales won best visual and vocal, as well as Grand Champions.
"I do show choir because I've made some really good friends and met some really nice people," said Martin. "My favorite aspect of competing has to be cheering on the other Plainfield groups when we aren't performing; all the different chants and stuff are really fun."

Thursday, February 29, the Community Showcase will be held in the PHS Auditorium, with Femmes Fatales and Belles et Beaux performing. Anyone is welcome to join.
Martin explained an important aspect of show choir that he has learned. "Having good sportsmanship is vital; everyone wants to win and brag about it," said Martin. "What show choir has taught me is that you should celebrate everyone's success and hard work they've put into making their show."
