Spirit Week

Homecoming spirit week is finally here this January. Students will spend the week dressing according to the daily themes to show off their school spirit!

Spirit week is a great time for students to connect with their peers and show off their school pride! Senior Ava Kirchoff detailed how she displays her school spirit. "I would say that I am someone who has a lot of school spirit. As a member of the student government and someone who is kind of a representative of the class, I always try to put myself out there," she said. "I enjoy participating in spirit days, showing up to games, and doing what I can to support the Quakers. I love Plainfield and I love being a Quaker!"

Kirchoff expressed her love for Thursday's Hawaiian theme. "I'm personally very excited for Hawaiian day because I really want to wear a flower lei," Kirchoff said. "I've always been very drawn to the colors. They're just so fun and cute. I think students will have a lot of fun with the theme."

Dressing up for spirit days is exciting, however it's not the only fun homecoming week brings. The homecoming carnival is also coming up this weekend. Kirchoff explained how her favorite aspect of homecoming week is the school's carnival. "I am most excited for the carnival because I like being able to see what the students have worked on. I enjoy seeing how creative students are and there's always something goofy to admire," she stated.

Kirchoff described why she believes homecoming is important to celebrate."It's important to have events like homecoming because it's a way for students to come together and express themselves," she said. "It's nice to have an excuse to have fun at school like it's not just another boring week at school. It's also important to show support to the school's basketball team."
