Welcome Club 361
It's startup season! As you're exploring new clubs this year, keep an eye out for Club 361.
The club, organized by school resource officers, soft-launched this Monday, September 23rd. Officer Josh Jellison, one of the officers who started the club, has high hopes for this launch. "We're waiting to see how many people we have interested in the club but we're planning to have meetings during smart club and some during career days." Said Jellison. "Club 361 is a club that goes into three different pillars; mental and physical wellness, leadership, and service. It's geared a lot around the service, we want to do public service like police, dispatch, fire, and work with the animal shelter."
The club's unique name comes from an accident that occurred during a car chase in 2023. "The club is named Club 361 because of Indiana State Trooper Aaron Smith, who passed away from his injuries last year after he was hit by a vehicle." Said Jellison. "He was a big time public servant on and off duty and we got some pretty neat things set up for it [the club]. That's why we want to focus on public service."
On October 2nd, the club has its first speaker coming in to talk about the accident involving Aaron Smith and more about the club. Be sure to stay on the lookout for additional information.
