Winter Homecoming Dance 2025

01/17/2025

As students settle into the second semester, the annual winter dance will be held in accordance with events like the winter homecoming game and- due to hurricane Helene canceling the fall homecoming carnival- the rescheduled homecoming carnival.

In partnership with the PTO, the student government helps coordinate the event. Senior Eliza Kuehn, an active member of the student government, describes how the two work together.

"PTO has a big closet that has all of their decorations in, and they decide the theme," said Kuehn. "But, student government has a say in it. We go to one of their meetings and we give them ideas."

While the PTO and student government help set up the event, other students are patiently waiting for Friday night, including Kuehn herself.

"My friends and I are going for the last hour or so," said Kuehn. "This is my last homecoming dance in high school, so I'm excited to wrap all of that up and spend time with my friends before, during and after the dance."

Many others share the same sentiment about the dance, especially seniors, where it is their last semi-formal dance before prom in the spring. The dance will take place on Friday, January 17th, and will begin at 7:00 PM. It will last until 9:30 PM, with snacks, refreshments and music for all students to enjoy.
