As the year comes to a close, it's time for the senior class of 2024 to celebrate all that they have accomplished. The Student Government has several events planned at the start of May for seniors to honor their achievements.

Shoe Drive

April 22 marks the start of the Environmental Club's annual Shoe Drive. Donations are starting today and ending Friday, April 26.

If one were to look near the entrance of the E Hallway, they would find a collection of posters, highlighting students within the Special Education program for the month of March. During March, Disability Awareness Month takes place-- a dedicated time to acknowledge, understand and accept a group of people who are often not spoken about publicly...

On Friday, April 19, MSA and Cultural Awareness Club will be holding an Eid celebration after school starting at 3 p.m. and ending approximately at 5:30 p.m.

Interested in singing, dancing and performing? Through April 19, dance workshops and auditions are being offered to join the choirs next school year. No prior experience is needed, and every student is welcome to participate.

On April 10, HOSA embarked on their annual State Leadership Conference. Senior Madeline Yocum was among those who attended the event, and placed top ten for her research poster, top ten for mental health promotion and third place for prepared speaking.

Saturday, April 13, PHS Bands went to their annual ISSMA State contest. Both bands scored high, with period 1 earning Gold with a Silver in sight reading, and period 4 earning Gold and a Gold in sight reading.

Eid al-Fitr

On the evening of April 9 and through April 10, millions of Muslims worldwide are celebrating Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, a month-long period of fasting. During Ramadan, Muslims fast during the day as a way to practice self-discipline and honor the month in which they believe the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Mohammad....

On February 24, 34 students competed for the Indiana Historical Society and are advancing to the State competition in April. Among these students is junior Ava Kirchoff, who presented a historical research project over the history of organ transplantation.
